Last Sunday's sermon was titled, "Stepping Out Of The Boat" and was based on Matthew 14:22-33. Here are a few take aways from the message.
1. In our day and age when we are bombarded with “fake news” and “alternative facts” it’s normal to be skeptical. For a lot of people seeing is believing yet faith calls us to believe without necessarily seeing. (Hebrews 11:1)
2. God knows our faith needs to be stretched that’s why He allows us to face trails. (James 1:2-4)
3. In the account in which Jesus walked on water, he had made his disciples get into the boat and cross the lake. The disciples didn’t want to go but they obey Jesus and in so doing they not only saw Jesus calm the storm but Peter got to actually walk on water and in that way they got to experience Jesus in way they had never experienced before. (Matthew 14:22-33)
